EmBodied Legacies:
The Untold Stories of Black Healers in Dance/Movement Therapy
Co-produced by: The Diahann Project + Black Magic Association
Embodied Legacies is a 4-part documentary film series by The Diahann Project in partnership with Black Magic Association dedicated to reclaiming and preserving the histories of Black dance/movement therapists across generations.
Through cinematic interviews, archival storytelling, and collective movement ritual, this film will:
• Unearth erased pioneers in the field
• Honor elder wisdom bearers
• Document contemporary Black DMT innovation
• Envision the future of justice-centered somatic healing
This project is not only a film.
It is a living archive.
It is historical repair.
It is collective memory made visible.
Embodied Legacies is partially funded by the Marian Chace Foundation.
